some kids at a wedding.

hey jerks… war is war and we might not agree with it, but i think we should agree that we should support our troops - strangers, peers, friends, or family. it’s almost christmas and it’s now hanukkah… basically it’s the holidays. i joined a great website to adopt a soldier, and i’m also sending letters/care packages to friends who are stationed overseas. if you want, do what you can. it’s the little things that get us all through life, and i think the little things might mean a lot more to people overseas during the holiday season. a great website to send donations and to adopt a soldier is: http://www.hugsforoursoldiers.org (spread the word).
regardless, i wish anyone reading this happy holidays and a happy new year!!
waiting on the shit train in nyc.
so, this week i lost a good chunk of my photographs. they were on my external HD and then disappeared into thin air. i spent a bunch of money for a professional to tell me that. luckily, i have most of my important photographs backed up in various places, but i still lost a lot of stuff that was special to me. i was pretty upset… but i guess sometimes when things seem to fall to shit, you just need to suck it up and start building again.
whenever conan announced he was coming to NYC, i went on the ole internet and signed up for tickets. AND GUESS WHAT. i got tickets to his last taping in NYC! only problem is, i didn’t think i’d actually get them… so i need to figure out a way to see conan in NYC on november 3rd, and get back to ohio on november 5th, ‘cause i have tickets to the OSU football game. JAM PACKED WEEKEND.
daymon day parade 2011.
you really can’t beat riding/skating/walking down high street with a police escort while blasting rap music and yelling whatever the fuck you want to all the people staring from the sidewalk.
it’s officially the 10th anniversary of 9/11. i think whether you give a shit about our country or not, that day affected all of us, in some shape or form.
i was, ironically enough, in american history when the towers were hit. how strange to be in an american history class as american history is happening. my brother, who lives in nyc, spent his afternoon being evacuated from the island, and had to walk across the brooklyn bridge. i remember getting a note from the office at my high school from my mother saying that my brother was okay and fine… that’s my “where were you when…” story, i suppose.
regardless, a lot of people lost their lives, and a lot of people lost people they loved… this is a photo i took in 2002 of ground zero. it’s nothing special, but i think it’s appropriate and necessary that we continue to love, miss and remember anyone who we have lost, whatever the circumstance may be.
